Project Magnitude

There’s nothing like “GREAT” design regardless of what practition.

… a little more candy for ya!

It’s Coming! Diablo III…

Star Wars… it will never end.

Arcade fan (and genius) Le Chuck got up one morning and thought “Why not build a perfect replica of Atari’s Star Wars Arcade, at 1:6 scale?” The result is this amazing 12-inch cabinet with a fully working Atari-yoke, handmade from aluminum and a pair of potentiometers. Tucked inside the box is a modded Caanoo running MAME4all, which has been tweaked to boot straight into the game when activated. The whole project took him over 80 hours to put together, but we think it was time very well spent. LOL sure we do.

DARPA director leaves agency for Google, assumes mysterious role.

Not even the federal government’s factory of scifi dreams can hold off the likes of Google’s recruiters. According to Wired, Regina Dugan, DARPA’s current director, will be moving on from the Department of Defense’s fantastical research arm for an unspecified “senior executive position” with the folks from Mountain View. Dugan’s served in her role for the past three years, winning over the likes of the Pentagon by shifting her agency’s focus from out-there R&D experiments to more practical military applications, while also ruffling a few feathers with her brazen statements. No word was given on when exactly she’ll officially join the search giant’s ranks other than a vague mention of “sometime in the next few weeks.” Look out Uncle Sam, the Google brain drain’s got its sights set on you. Now, no government sector is safe.

How many times have you heard this… ? With respect to Valentines Day today, take the day off ;)

So, so true…

Mass Effect 3 Will Bring More Emotional Characters, Bioware Reveals

The new Mass Effect 3 game will be the third and final in the series, will be arriving in just two months time, and is currently being developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts.

A new interview with BioWare Pulse has revealed that the new game will provide a much more emotive experience for players. Deepening the characters within the games and providing characters with a more human side. Watch the interview with Mass Effect 3 Lead Writer Mac Walters to discuss the nuances of driving emotion and character development within the Mass Effect 3 world.

Lead Mass Effect writer Mac Walters explains:

“One of the things we wanted to do in Mass Effect 3,”-“was deepen Shepard as a character, so you really get to express what your Shepard is feeling and going through, throughout the war.” “We wanted to take that next step with the story telling. Yeah, it’s a war, yeah it’s got giant robots we get to shoot in the face, but there is a human side to the story. You are role-playing, and you are role-playing as a human. Why shouldn’t that human have an emotional component throughout the game?”

Mass Effect 3 will be arriving on March 6th 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and will mark the final chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy of video games, completing the story of Commander Shepard.
